[No. 03] Turf Talk at Mount Sinai, New York City. SynTurf.org, Newton. December 16, 2007. On December 6, 2007, Mount Sinai Department of Community and Preventive Medicine and Children’s Environmental Health Center in New York City sponsored a lecture series on the topic of Toxic Toys, Plastics & Playgrounds. Drs. Philip J. Landrigan (Chairman of Department of Community and Preventive Medicine) spoke about lead in toys, Joel Forman (Associate Professor, Community and Preventive Medicine and Pediatrics) discussed artificial turf, and Maida P. Galvez (Assistant Professor, Community and Preventive Medicine and Pediatrics) addressed plastics and childhood exposure.

[No. 02] November 29, 2007. Effects of turf on kids -- a lecture by Professor William Crain --  Thursday, November 29 at 7 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 100th St. and Amsterdam Avenue, in Manhattan (New York City). Bill is Professor of Psychology at The City College of New York. His talk is entitled "Synthetic Turf: Its Potential Impact on Children." He will be discussing research on potentially hazardous chemicals in the synthetic turf as well as the way natural environments benefit children's cognitive and emotional development. The vent expects to attract a diverse audience form New Jersey, Connecticut and New York's Brooklyn and Westchester.
